"Amorphia" is a unique portrait of a confident young woman with a fierce determined pose. It is from a series of portraits which explore aspects of feminine presentation and identity. The portrait is comprised of colorful shapes and swirls. Light and shadow are distributed with carefully chosen light and dark hues. The facial features and patterns are defined with semi-gloss black lines which alternately rein in the composition.

This piece also fits into a larger painting series painted in this unique way which is meant to confront and challenge expectations of the human form. The entire panel is alive with energetic bold patterns in bright yellows, oranges, pinks, reds, blues, greens, aquas, purples and iridescent silver. It is tamed with grays and neutrals. The thing that stands out most is the bright magenta hair, which seems to glow on the canvas.

This original painting is sure to demand attention. It is thoroughly fun and contemporary. The image is painted in acrylic with tight detail and care on a quality gallery wrapped canvas with 1 1/2" stretcher bars. The patterns continue over the thick edges of the painting so there is no need for framing. The painting includes a hang-wire and is ready to hang.
