Ready to Hang

This is a 16x20 piece done in oil on canvas and is ready to hang. Giraffes have always been a sense of inspiration for me because they are the tallest animals and a very kind animal. They are grounded to the earth but have their heads in the clouds.

Benj begins each moment before creation with the opening of a journal and sketchbook. A simultaneous adventure into the subconscious of his own mind. A clearing out of the inner monologue and a moment to just put pen to paper and create something without thinking...without analyzing...with the sheer fact of just being in, with and lost in the moment.

Benj believes that there is so much about life that can be scary...fearful and dreary...why not create art that reminds you of an imagination...that you can look at a piece and be taken to a place of joy...the merging of beautiful colors and hopeful happy places.

Benj Curtis is a fine artist and illustrator specializing in expressionistic colorful pieces of art. The art he creates can range in style, subject matter, or medium. The thread that continues to run through his work, is a bold expression of color and line within each piece he creates. "I don't paint the same thing over and over, because there is so much in life to capture. There are so many moments to express, and for me painting is a visual expression, a journal of what is felt in that moment of time." He has worked the last four years creating custom work for individuals. He believes that every space should have a story, and artwork is the characters that bring that story to life. If you enjoy his style, reach out and he can create a custom beauty for your home. "The world is full of beauty... sometimes you just have to adjust your eyesight."
