This ocean and beach painting with palm trees and bluffs is reminiscent of many views in north San Diego County, as well as further up the coast of southern California. You can almost feel the balmy ocean breezes, the warm sun on your skin, and the wet sand underfoot as you walk along the beach at low tide, while listening to the relaxing sound of the waves.
This is an original acrylic painting on 3/4 inch deep canvas. Stapled on back with the sides painted to match the image. No frame required. Comes wired and ready to hang. Finished with two coats of UV protective varnish. All archival quality materials. Ships in a box from my studio in Oceanside, CA. © Copyright Barbara Blair "California Sand and Sea" 16 x 20 inches.
I like to paint coastal, tropical and water themed images with acrylics on canvas,
to provide a visual mini-vacation that can be experienced at any time, as an escape from the stress of civilization. Whether it’s a scene that transports the viewer to a more peaceful, meditative place in their mind, or a whimsical, joyful image that brings out their inner child, or one with inspiring words that touches the heart, I attempt to create art that has a healing value.
The sea is one of my favorite subjects as it speaks to me on a deep emotional level, and provides a profound sense of calm, stillness and contemplation, a way to rebalance and renew the human spirit. This theme is explored in my serenity series of land, sea and sky images, which are expansive, minimal and slightly abstract. See more of my coastal art on my website: www.BarbaraBlairArt.com
