The life I had as a child was so different then the life of today's child. I wonder what the life of our future children will look like.
Ally is a self-taught artist specializing in mixed media and acrylics. Growing up in Chicago and being shuffled between alcoholic parents, she learned to use art as an escape. After high school, art took a back seat as she focused on her studies at the University of Wisconsin. During her junior year, she began a downward spiral into depression, drugs and alcohol. She moved to several different states, each time bringing only her art supplies. In 2004, Ally relocated for the last time and has been clean and sober ever since. She has spent the last few years on strengthening her art skills, with books and practice as her only guide. She currently lives in Seattle, where she has a studio in her home. She has sold a few of her pieces to friends and has been commissioned to do several other pieces. Instead of alcohol & drugs, art fills the void in her soul. Although it is not her career, it is her life; her passion.
