In an effort to restore an heirloom rocking chair, I began using scraps of paper and found yarn and thread to teach myself how to cane. After finishing a number of these pieces, I started to cut them apart and use them in other paintings. A few, like this one, felt finished immediately after I completed the weaving process. The piece is approximately 18x18" and is framed in a black 20x20x2" shadow box frame on a white mat.
