This mixed medial piece was inspired during my move to Galveston Island, Texas.
Although photography is Artist Alicia Boles’ first love, she also creates works of art in several different mediums including abstract oils, acrylics, and mixed media. Taking photographs has always been Alicia's way of expressing herself; a cameras flash and click has been her voice and inspiration for years and will be for years to come.”I’ve always loved looking at the world through the lens of a camera and now I have extended that view through canvas, paint, wood and whatever else I can get my hands on." Alicia likes to take pictures from her collection that do not necessarily go together and make them into one new creation through a process of layering. After leaving a career in aviation with the support of her family and friends, Alicia began working at Affaire d’art International Fine Art Gallery in January 2014 and became co-owner of the gallery with partner Nikki Thompson in May 2014. Alicia and Nikki have been very grateful to previous owners, Sharis and Kent DeJaynes for the opportunity to continue Affaire’s legacy. "I was very excited to not only be a part of the gallery as an artist but I am so thrilled to now be the co-owner.”
