The idea for the piece was inspired by a song of the same name that is really fitting mood and tone of the picture. Its a portrait of a acquaintance of mine. The idea of a warm shadow to me is something dark, and familiar in the sense that we are not scared of it. We know its a part of us.

I am primarily a self taught artist, drawing as long as I could remember, which really isn't saying much. For the most part the only formal or what I consider formal training I've had was my last two of high school, and my years at school going to San Antonio College. Being part of the Graphic and Fine Arts program really just help me develop everything a little more. After school, I pretty much went back to basics and did everything in my sketch books. Eventually I picked up airbrushing again and started adding in watercolor and have been doing it since then.
