The reason I chose the title for this piece because I was continuing the series of paintings "Kuro" which is a Japanese word for the color black and lends itself to the idea I was exploring for the paintings.

I created this piece with the mindset of wanting to showing color blending into each other not only to create other colors but to create the color black. Which leads back to the of CMYK printing and the way inks are mixed together to create a print.

My inspiration in creating this piece was the idea that the color black can be looked at the most colorful of all the colors. And white is completely void of color.

I am primarily a self taught artist, drawing as long as I could remember, which really isn't saying much. For the most part the only formal or what I consider formal training I've had was my last two of high school, and my years at school going to San Antonio College. Being part of the Graphic and Fine Arts program really just help me develop everything a little more. After school, I pretty much went back to basics and did everything in my sketch books. Eventually I picked up airbrushing again and started adding in watercolor and have been doing it since then.
