Krishna is the most loved Hindu Godhead of India. Right from his infant stage he is a delight to behold. He is separated from his mother and brought up by Yasodha his foster mother. He is a mischievous kid and his mischief is a pleasure for all around him He is the darling of the neighborhood too. Here in a shlokha mother Yesodha holds him in her arms and looks at him with all love. This pose is called "Vatsalyam" and a Bharathanatyam dancer is depicting it in the dance form.
Yasoda with baby Krishna in her arms:
"idam te mukhāmbhojam atyanta-nīlair
vṛtam kuntalaiḥ snigdha-raktaiś ca gopyā
muhuś cumbitam bimba-raktādharam me
manasy āvirāstām alam lakṣa-lābhaiḥ"
O Lord, the cheeks of Your blackish lotus face,
which is encircled by locks of curling hair, have
become reddened like bimba fruits due to Mother Yasoda's kisses.
What more can I describe than this? Millions of opulences
are of no use to me, but may this vision constantly remain in my mind.

Winsor & Newton Oil paints and mediums
A self taught artist, art is a passion for me. I have been painting for the last decade and I love to experiment in all mediums and do not like to restrict to a particular “style” or "subject" as I feel that restrains the spirit of art. I paint whenever I can and anything that inspires me, gives me joy ! Nature and all creations in nature are the major sources of my inspiration. If only I could, I would paint all through my waking hours what I dream of painting in my sleep! If there is rebirth I would like to be born an artist again and again!
