Bred in America is an acrylic painting with sculpted plaster on canvas topped with a coating of high gloss UV protectant finishing. I wanted to depict the resilience and toughness of America as a nation through an iconic figure… the American Bulldog!

This piece was methodically thought out and executed in a 3 step process that includes:
1. Plastering; used to create a depth and texture that pops right off the canvas!
2. Painting; I painted this with acrylic, fingernail polish, and glitter.
3. Gloss Coat; the final step in the process involves carefully topping off my paintings with a resin coating which gives it a protectant shine that will last for many years.

Antwan is an emerging artist that’s been working in secrecy over the past 7 years practicing and developing his own unique style. He is driven by a passion to create something that’s never existed and can be enjoyed by many people for generations. Growing up in an overcrowded 1300 square foot home in Dallas TX is where Antwan’s love for art first began. As a young child his mother was a design student at Miss Wade Fashion College. He would watch her everyday sketch out design concepts that he would try to emulate on his own. His mother encouraged him to challenge conventional wisdom and create something that stands out from the crowd. This idea is what continues to fuel him to push the boundaries of his creations. Antwan currently produces his creations in his home studio in Dallas TX, where he lives with his wife and three children.
