This piece is based on a photo of the peace center in Hiroshima. The skeleton of the industrial building stands in stark contrast to the modern skyline of the city left in ruins by the A-bomb. The facade of the building that was left standing is a ghostly figure that conjures many emotions and images. However the overall context is that of survival and the continuity of life. Life and death.

I have always had a different perspective of the world around me. My mind has always been saturated with color and emotion. I have lived with a persistent need to preserve and illuminate visual and visceral experiences. I grew up in the South, realizing at a young age I was a misfit. Most of my life has been a mixture of extremes, and I have had the fortune of being able to explore life without dogma and restrictions while living in a part of the country with an identity crisis of its own. I have been fortunate to have circled the globe and taught to find beauty everywhere. I first attended art school in Atlanta in my 20's. I have a great love of textiles, fabrics, architecture, literature among many things. I enjoy the freedom of expression through visual, written and spoken form. I am also a child of the theater with a restless spirit.
