The works of Cezanne, Matisse, O’Keefe, Gauguin, and Renoir influences me. I am influenced by their interpretive style and their philosophies on color and design.
Like many artists, I paint out of emotion. My work is about color and light and I am trying to push what I can do constantly and always trying more difficult subjects, perspectives, arrangements, lighting, and color schemes. All of the failures and challenges that occur when I paint don’t hinder my success because when I see the final result, it brings such joy and I know that all the hard work and dedication was all worth it.
I love all the great coffees and pastries I get on my stressful commute to work, i feel they help get me through the morning.
My name is Anthony Stenberg. After teaching art for the past nine years at the Elementary, Middle School and High School levels, I have found that the years of art instruction has given me a deeper understanding of art and design. Not only has teaching deepened my understanding, creating art has been a way for me to release some of life’s stresses. I search for subjects that I find beautiful and give me a sense of peace. I paint what I love, whether it’s in a hot or cold studio or on a dangerous cliff overlooking the ocean, I paint subjects that are beautiful and introspective. Drawn from life experiences, where I have lived as well as being inspired by nature both aesthetically and for conservation. I have shown in various galleries, museums, and venues for over 20 years. My artwork is in collections throughout the world. Thank you for visiting my portfolio.
