I painted this piece this summer reminiscing about summer 2014 when I was visiting Italy. I was particularly fond of an island off the coast of Anzio called, Ponza. Here the waters were clear blue and fichi di india cacti everywhere you looked! The two days I'd spent in Ponza was the longest, loveliest of dreams.
There is a tiny rip at the top left.
Hi all. I currently live and work in New York as a character designer in feature animation. I am a recent alum of the Animation/Illustration program from San Jose State. During that time, I've exhibited a piece in the Society of Illustrators and was awarded the Maurice and Marjorie Noble Scholarship in 2009. I find inspiration in a range of things- from the natural world, to fashion, to dreams. Presently, being near New York City and encountering a constant flow of quirky personalities and styles has been a major influence on my work. As of late, I've been loving exploration with mixed media- watercolors, pencil, and black ink
