When you take the time to step back and breathe in the scenery, you become grounded. Start to notice the details and look a little closer. The world has so many beautiful things to offer.
The pacific northwest is full of incredibly beautiful scenes that are always painting pictures in my mind. Simply going on a drive from point A to point B, I find myself getting lost in the incredible beauty around me. Beauty is found where you choose to look for it. I am constantly analyzing my surroundings and thinking about my next work.
Much of my work is created referencing my photography. Traveling is a huge access point to my inspiration. I love meeting new people and seeing new surroundings.
Artwork has many roles. It can bind us as people, it can share emotions, it can call to act, it can change our mood. Artwork can simply be "art for arts sake". I love all of the voices art has and I find that through different periods of my life my artwork embodies a different role. Currently I have been experimenting with abstract art. It has a color scheme that fits so perfectly in a room while the piece allows the viewer to become lost while sitting and quietly contemplating.
