Ready to Hang
Uptown Jazz Funk is a colorful painting bursting with rhythmic energy. This painting has a lot of texture and 3-D elements included. I included a real feather on the hat. One of the stars were created using wood. There is also another object used that may be difficult to detect. At the end of the trumpet, there is a CD to create the circle effect of the trumpet. I had an old CD that was scratched, so I primed it with gesso and I painted on top of it.
This painting is unframed, but the sides are painted for easy display. It is also wired properly and is ready to hang. The materials used in this painting includes acrylic, acrylic markers, watercolor pencils, watercolor, feather, wood, CD, and ink.
My name is Angela R. Green. I am a visual artist and graphic designer. I attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where I studied art under the leadership of Henri Linton, Sr. My artistic process of monotone abstract figures and shapes began at a young age. Today, my art is characterized by vibrant colors, shapes, and values. My subject matter is diverse and is often inspired by everyday objects found in my community. The process I use to create my work is often spontaneous. I like to experiment with different mediums and materials to create unique works of art. I have exhibited my work in group and solo art shows. I recently had a solo art show “ Essence of Jazz” in October 2015. In 2014, my artwork was selected as “Best of Show” by the ACANSA Arts Festival. My artwork is in many private collections throughout the U.S. and the Netherlands. My work is also part of a private collection at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. angelargreen.com
