Purple Rain II is a mixed media on canvas. I was painting this piece 3 days before Prince died. I created it as part of my musical series. I think the title is appropriate to show remembrance for one of the greatest musical artist that has ever lived, Prince Rogers Nelson.
The materials used includes: acrylic, acrylic markers, watercolor pencils, a purple cross, and ink. I used the cross to add a 3-dimensional effect to the painting. This painting is sold unframed. The sides are painted for easy display and it's signed by the artist.
My name is Angela R. Green. I am a visual artist and graphic designer. I attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where I studied art under the leadership of Henri Linton, Sr. My artistic process of monotone abstract figures and shapes began at a young age. Today, my art is characterized by vibrant colors, shapes, and values. My subject matter is diverse and is often inspired by everyday objects found in my community. The process I use to create my work is often spontaneous. I like to experiment with different mediums and materials to create unique works of art. I have exhibited my work in group and solo art shows. I recently had a solo art show “ Essence of Jazz” in October 2015. In 2014, my artwork was selected as “Best of Show” by the ACANSA Arts Festival. My artwork is in many private collections throughout the U.S. and the Netherlands. My work is also part of a private collection at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. angelargreen.com
