Busting Loose is a very loosely painted mixed media on heavyweight acid-free paper. This piece was inspired by one of my students. She came into the studio wearing a pair of shorts with ragged edges. When I asked about them, she explained that it was the new trend that the young ladies were wearing. Needless to say, I learned a lesson in the new generation of fashion.
I used watercolor pencils, acrylic, and acrylic markers to create the shorts. I added drops of paint to create puddles on the paper and allowed them to blend together. I added a little acrylic and watercolor pencils to create the skin tone. This piece will need a frame.
My name is Angela R. Green. I am a visual artist and graphic designer. I attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where I studied art under the leadership of Henri Linton, Sr. My artistic process of monotone abstract figures and shapes began at a young age. Today, my art is characterized by vibrant colors, shapes, and values. My subject matter is diverse and is often inspired by everyday objects found in my community. The process I use to create my work is often spontaneous. I like to experiment with different mediums and materials to create unique works of art. I have exhibited my work in group and solo art shows. I recently had a solo art show “ Essence of Jazz” in October 2015. In 2014, my artwork was selected as “Best of Show” by the ACANSA Arts Festival. My artwork is in many private collections throughout the U.S. and the Netherlands. My work is also part of a private collection at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. angelargreen.com
