Ready to Hang
A large, striking oil painting inspired by the beauty of the floral world around us, in particular roses. I keep coming back to abstract representations of flowers, loving the intensity of their colours as well as their vibrancy. The painting was built over many layers of thick, impasto oil. The painting is reflecting a joyful, playful mood. This artwork is eye catching in its vibrancy and size making it a focal point in any room.
The edges of the box canvas have been painted in a complementary colour. Hooks are fixed on the back so the canvas is ready for hanging.
Discovering that I love painting in my 30s was quite a surprise to me - I always thought of myself as a writer not a painter. Now I can't stop painting; I always have several ideas in my head for the next piece and am impatient to get on with it. I am curious by nature, always ready to further explore new ideas and impressions. I originally studied literature in London (BA Honours) and then in Oxford (MSt European Literature). Later I also completed a Masters in Counselling. Both fiction and psychotherapy influence my artistic work through the stories and unconscious processes revealing themselves layer by layer. My work has been sold to art collectors internationally with many returning customers. My work is regularly exhibited at local galleries and art fairs in London.
