Ready to Hang
A joyful abstract painting inspired by mood rather than imagery. The painting has been built over many layers of thick, impasto paint lending depth and texture to the painting. The painting will appear to change when viewed from different angles in the room or with the changing light in the room allowing the viewer a different perspectives and responses to the painting. 'Joy' is a contemporary painting and will make an impact on any wall, be it at home or in an office environment.
The canvas is painted around the edges in complementary colours and is ready for hanging.
Discovering that I love painting in my 30s was quite a surprise to me - I always thought of myself as a writer not a painter. Now I can't stop painting; I always have several ideas in my head for the next piece and am impatient to get on with it. I am curious by nature, always ready to further explore new ideas and impressions. I originally studied literature in London (BA Honours) and then in Oxford (MSt European Literature). Later I also completed a Masters in Counselling. Both fiction and psychotherapy influence my artistic work through the stories and unconscious processes revealing themselves layer by layer. My work has been sold to art collectors internationally with many returning customers. My work is regularly exhibited at local galleries and art fairs in London.
