A large, strong and striking abstract painting with vivid reds, oranges, yellows, ochres, magenta and green. I've been wanting to paint a fiery painting for a while but struggled with red hues. This painting is the result of patiently applying thick oil paint over many layers, scratching off the paint and reapplying another layer thus lending texture and depth to the painting.
The box canvas is painted in cream. Small hooks are attached and the canvas is ready for hanging.
Discovering that I love painting in my 30s was quite a surprise to me - I always thought of myself as a writer not a painter. Now I can't stop painting; I always have several ideas in my head for the next piece and am impatient to get on with it. I am curious by nature, always ready to further explore new ideas and impressions. I originally studied literature in London (BA Honours) and then in Oxford (MSt European Literature). Later I also completed a Masters in Counselling. Both fiction and psychotherapy influence my artistic work through the stories and unconscious processes revealing themselves layer by layer. My work has been sold to art collectors internationally with many returning customers. My work is regularly exhibited at local galleries and art fairs in London.
