This piece was created to showcase a monochromatic style, the matte-black-on-black color scheme purposely obscures the image at different angles and in different light.
San Francisco born artist Andrew Rosas has a unique take on art. “Art is not the piece, the thing you have created. The piece is just the tool, or the platform. Art is a conversation the creator has with the viewer or the participant. It is the purposeful drawing forth of thought or emotion from another through a conversation had without words. Art is crafting a feeling, or an emotion or idea, such that it becomes real and present for another human being. If I create something, and through the thing I have crafted an emotion or an idea, if I can walk away from it and someone else can step in and feel and understand the idea or the emotion, I have created Art.” Andrew takes much of his motivation from artists such as: MC Escher, Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, and Georges Seurat.
