A fun painting that kind of has a life of its own. Let the elephants evil eyes permeate into your soul ~(*)~(*)~ and ask you questions of your own existence.

My first memories making art are drawing toys, architecture and cartoon characters. As an only child, art was a way to express myself creatively, and a constructive means to deal with anxiety and loneliness. Throughout life, my art has changed in surprising ways and continues to reveal itself to me. I went to college thinking that creating realistic-looking art was an artist’s virtue. It took a strange and destructive event to change the course of my art forever. The “epiphany moment” happened after tearing apart a figurative sculpture I was working on for a class. The semester-long Advanced Figure Modeling assignment was to recreate Degas “Little Dancer of Fourteen Years”. I was so disgusted by my progress that I tore the clay sculpture apart and never turned back. From then on, my art was dedicated to exploring abstraction instead of realism. My work went from an external exploration of the human form, to the internal metaphysical nature of being. See more at: andrewhutner.com
