This piece is one of four western paintings I've developed with my own spin. I enjoy creating dynamic scenes in my work for this collection. In this series, the wild west meets a kind of urban flair. For me, no western series is complete without gunslinger Doc Holliday. Ain't that a daisy?
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, my name is Andrew Broadous, and I simply can't imagine a world without art. Ever since I was a preschooler, I've been in love with the stories that art makes. Since then, I've dabbled in acrylics, oils, spray paints, charcoal, pastels, and even sculpture (I'm getting there). I have a wide interest in many art forms, whether they be visual, written, or auditory. On many occasions, I've been able to transform an idea in one medium to an idea in a completely different medium, such as a poem-turned-painting. That, I've found, is key. If you can shift ideas around and still preserve their meaning, then you've found art--your art.
