This is part of a series exploring mindfulness and human psychology.

Mystical figures stand under a starry sky, quietly observing a glow in the distance.
They'd like to remind you to slow down, regard the world, and mindfully observe your own inner state and thoughts.

Intimate format invites viewers to get close and examine the soft, velvety tones of intaglio.
Varied edition Solarplate etching. Number 1 of 10. Paper size is 7.5in x 7.5in.

I am an artist and printmaker living in Portland, Oregon. I have always been interested in human psychology and behavior, and I explore this in art. I love traveling and learning about other cultures. Seeing the wide range of human life and possibility inspires me to examine my own life and behavior and to question how we humans construct reality. Although I am often inspired by forms in the world around me, I usually work from internal inspiration, bringing imagery from dreams and the unconscious. My work tends toward the abstract to encourage viewers to collaborate in the art-making by bringing their own meaning to the work, as informed by their own individual experiences. I love when a piece of art or writing can encourage different thoughts depending on what is happening in our lives.
