Ready to Hang
This piece began as a cluster of subjects I wanted to paint; the wild swans that had appeared in a nearby park, a chandelier, and irises from my garden, all coming from a blue palette. Then to combine them in a single composition. The background is done in two metallic tones, which change with the light from copper to silver. The seam, seems to be held together with 3 small beads, two of them God's eyes. I think my favorite part tho, is the rim around the portal of swans, which vibrates between reflection and translucence.
Tulsa is my home. I've been painting for decades, and am active in the rapidly growing arts community here. I am the director of the gallery at our local Equality center, OkEq. Hanging a show is almost as fulfilling as creating my own work. I have a big complicated loving family, One big dog and one small cat.
