Mixed media, acrylic, watercolor and oil on board coated with venetian plaster. Measures 24x24
This was an experiment to see how the colors play out on venetian plaster and I really thought it was fun. The colors are bright and cheerful.
I love all things creative. I feed my soul with my passion for a variety of creative expressions. I want to “do it all”. Alicia has been interested in art and being creative since she was a child; drawing cartoons and designing clothes for paper dolls. She attended Arizona State University majoring in art although she was unable to finish college. In her early 30’s she had the opportunity to pursue her dream and attend an art school. She was living in New Orleans at the time and attended the John McCrady Art School located in the French Quarter. It was a fine arts private school with excellent local and nationally known instructors. The school taught oils, pastels, watercolors and many other design and art mediums. She was selected Student of the Year for the two years she attended. After art school she has entered art shows winning ribbons. She has continued to paint in oils and watercolors off and on over the years. Presently she teaches watercolor, acrylic and oil painting in a 55+ complex in Mesa, AZ. My work is also on display at the Sedona Art Center, Sedona, AZ. “Lately, my interest is also turning toward becoming more proficient with mixed media. . I have wanted to work in a more abstract manner and finally found a style that seems to fit my skills, and excite me in doing them. I always have a desire to learn and grow creatively.”
