Ready to Hang

I painted in backgrounds to get an inkling of what I wanted this to be and it emerged intuitively from there with other elements including some pours of acrylic colors in mediums and the embedding of pearlex pigments and also the placement of accents which were manipulated without a brush. Are there distant bright lights in the forest? Or is it a cave with bonfires? Or something else. Let the viewer decide. Ready to hang without a frame.

I am a self-taught artist who has been painting and learning for around 50 years. In addition to high school art classes I've learned by doing, failing, observing and studying various books by a number of artists. I was born in St. Augustine, Florida and as a teenager lived next to a successful artist whose studio I enjoyed seeing and who gave me various pointers. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the US and a very "artsy" place. I have lived a number of other places, all of which added inspiration to be creative in their own way. In Florida I was a charter member of the local art league and exhibited and sold paintings in their venues, at a local state park's art shop, restaurants and even windows in the local mall as well as online. My husband and I are retired and we recently moved to Spring City, Tennessee, which is quaint and surrounded by mountains. We live on a hill with a view of the lake and mountains so even going outside is an inspiration. I hope that my art is something that adds beauty and joy to the lives of those that have my paintings, which are in collections around the United States as well as Canada and England.
