Go big or go home. This is a 24 x 56 wood panel that was set up on a flat surface and completely done in one long session to maintain the wet fluid flow for all the patterns to mingle into each other naturally.

Using a squeeze bottle, I "draw" the patterns of color. As they move and migrate into each other, the pigments react and create their own integrated patterns.

additionally, this piece has granulated gel mixed in to create texture. Anyone interested in the piece, I can provide some close up photos upon request.

As a printer for the past 30 years, ink and color is an all day, everyday thing. My inspiration comes from simple forms and bright colors. I chose acrylic medium for its quick drying properties and wide array of gels and mediums for creating different and interesting textures and movements. My unique technique called “Fluid Acrylic Happiness” is taking pigments from water based flexo ink, mixing it to a fluid medium, and create flows of color on all kinds of supports that cure to a high gloss finish. The process is controlling a pour from a cup or squeeze bottle and allowing it to slowly move and self level on it’s own or by means of manipulating it with various tools or tilting the support to get a more aggressive movement of color. The colorful and organic paintings evokes thought and lets your mind wander, seeing imagery within the flow of colors that bring happiness to your mind and soul. No matter how the painting is viewed, there will always be something different to see.
