Allison Rathan was born in Nürnberg, Germany. She studied Japanese at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and Economics at the University of Houston. Rathan is a self-taught artist who now works out of her studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her artwork is featured in private collections around the world and in galleries in Houston, Texas. She was profiled in Houston Magazine's 2014 Arts and Power Issue as one of Houston's upcoming artist. A review of her latest exhibition, The Cutting Bridle, was featured in the Houston Press. Her work has also been selected by Saatchi Gallery London Chief Curator Rebecca Wilson and shown in a collection of portraits.
